  1. A 6-CD boxset of recordings from the DKV Trio of Hamid Drake (drums), Kent Kessler (bass), and Ken Vandermark (reeds), plus guest Joe McPhee, the box dedicated to James Baldwin, recorded during the quartet's tour in Europe, and at shows in Chicago and Milwaukee that year, documenting six concerts with performances including Joe McPhee's "Nation Time".
  2. Hamid Drake - Drums. Celebrated pianist Georg Graewe brings his excellent improvising trio to FMR. 16 FantasiestŸcke is a collection of (16) delightful trio improvisations and is a veritable hotpot of talent and technique. The trio demonstrate their skills with an almost telekinetic ability and it is a testament to them that this is music with not just a brain but with a soul as well.
  3. Ken Vandermark/Barrage Double Trio: Utility Hitter ( [], Quinnah). One bass-drums-reeds trio (Nate McBride, Curt Newton, Vandermark) came out of Boston; the other (Kent Kessler, Hamid Drake, Mars Williams) is strictly Chicago. The liner notes help you keep them straight, which is a blessing, because there's a lot going on here.
  4. Georg Gräwe discography and songs: Music profile for Georg Gräwe, born 28 June Genres: Free Improvisation, Avant-Garde Jazz, Free Jazz. Albums include Subsymbolism, Light's View, and Duo (Amsterdam)
  5. Georg Graewe: Jazz Improv Chameleon. By MARTIN LONGLEY January 1, "The trio with Reijseger and Hemingway has been back in action since and I would like to reactivate my trio with Kent Kessler and Hamid Drake some time soon. Then there's my quintet with Tobias Delius and Sebi Tramontana as front men plus, of course, Sonic Fiction.
  6. Review: Melodie und Rhythmus captures the interplay of a fine and charismatic quartet of German and American jazz improvisers. Pianist Georg Gräwe is joined by reeds player Frank Gratkowski from Köln, Germany, and Chicago jazzmen, percussionist Hamid Drake and bassist Kent Kessler, for a recording date that reveals a strong likemindedness and communication between the bluesrock.dalalsanuanaracordalanim.infoinfo: Vitko.
